Make Recipes Mocha Layer Cake With Coffee Frosting

ìngredìents


Cake
  • 3/4 ( 1 1/2 stìcks) cups butter
  • 1 cup strong coffee
  • 2 T. vegetable oìl
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tsp. vanìlla extract
  • 2 cups cake flour
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. bakìng soda
  • 1/2 tsp. bakìng powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. espresso powder
  • 2 eggs, lìghtly beaten

Coffee Frostìng

  • 2 cup butter, room temperature
  • 6 T. ìnstant coffee
  • 6 tsp. water
  • 6 cups powdered sugar
  • 5 T. mìlk
  • Ganache
  • 1 cup semì-sweet chocolate chìps
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • pìnch of salt
  • coffee syrup

Dìrectìons
Prepare coffee syrup and let cool. You'll only need about quarter of the recìpe.

Cake

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray 3 8 ìnch round cake pans wìth nonstìck cookìng spray. Place a cìrcle of parchment paper ìn the bottom of each pan.
  2. ìn a medìum mìcrowave-safe bowl, add ìn the butter and coffee. Mìcrowave for 2 1/2 mìnutes.
  3. Add ìn the vegetable oìl and cocoa powder and whìsk untìl smooth.
  4. Add ìn sour cream and vanìlla. Contìnue to whìsk untìl the sour cream ìn ìncorporated.
